These are some of tributes received following Ruth's death...

Brent and Robin wrote: We are sorry to hear of the Ruth's passing. You both welcomed us to Scotland as if old friends and Ruth's tour of the Celtic Standing Stones and dinner at your home remain highlights of our visits to your wonderful country from Ohio. Baked Gammon on well heated dinner plates and her wonderful Cranachan, the traditional Scottish whisky and oatmeal dessert will be on our menu in her honour.

Eileen and Paul wrote: We've just discovered that Ruth died on Dec 26th and are utterly shattered by the news and we would like to express our deepest and sincerest sorrow over her passing. We had taken a picnic lunch to Ruth in October and had a wonderful visit.
Ruth was a creative tour de force and she knew how much we admired her work. At our picnic lunch she delighted in showing her latest ecclesiastical commission, a stunning ensemble of vestments. We have some glorious memories, which will remain with us.

Edward wrote: I saw Ruth's work on Iona today and was struck by her stole design that they still have in their store. Sadly, I was told that she had passed - I felt compelled to contact someone who knew her and share my belief that she lives on through her work which is truly inspirational. What a blessing.
